Aims And Objectives

Aim 1. To familiarize the participants with: 2. The required knowledge, skills and attitude of the family practitioner. 3. The specific consultation skills of a family practitioner. 4. The diagnostic and management process in general practice. 5. Professional communication and interpersonal skills in general practice. 6. Principles of disease prevention and patient education. 7. The roles of the family doctors. 8. Ethical and medicolegal issues.


Content Outline

Objective At the end of the course participants should be able to demonstrate the ability to: 1. Consult holistically and more effectively. 2. Erect a rational working diagnosis. 3. Formulate an appropriate management plan in partnership with patients. 4. Communicate more effectively with patients, colleagues and society in general. 5. To incorporate the principles of disease prevention and patient education in the doctor’s daily work. 6. Demonstrate understanding of ethical and medicolegal issues. 1.
