Aims And Objectives

Provide specialized training and education in the discipline of nutrition through learning context and strategies which equip graduates with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide high quality care across life cycles and clinical settings


Content Outline

• Evidence based and general principles of nutrition knowledge by understanding the primary role of nutrition in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. This can be achieved by knowledge translation into the patient plan of care. • Conducting complete nutritional assessment which includes: - Medical, psycho-social, and diet history. - Physical examination. - Anthropometric measurements (weight, height, body mass index, head circumference, waist circumference and waist to hip ratio). - Laboratory tests relevant to nutrition related conditions. • Counselling and educating the patient about the current nutritional guidelines. • Identifying high risk patient and refer them to specialized nutrition professionals for further counselling and management
