Anterior open bite is quite a frequently encountered malocclusion in patients seeking orthodontic treatment. The etiology of anterior open bite may be multi factorial, the main contributing factors to anterior open bite include habits such as non-nutritive sucking , abnormal swallowing, mouth breathing, variable resting tongue postures and hereditary . In the same way as horizontal skeletal dysplasia's are inherited , so dysplasia's in the vertical plane may also be inherited in open bite patients Effective and stable correction depends on an accurate diagnosis of the anterior open bite. Moreover, given the diversity of causative factors , Accurate treatment timing and planning is necessary.
