Aims And Objectives

At the end of this course participants are expected to: • Have a good theoretical understanding of the manual and manipulative therapy techniques for treating the Lumbar Spine. • Be able to select and correctly administer appropriate manual and manipulative therapy procedures for the Lumbar Spine. • Be able to instruct patients in the self mobilization treatment for the Lumbar Spine. • Be able to apply manual and manipulative therapy in relation to specific clinical presentations like Lumbar Degenerative Disk Disease, Lumbar Disk Plug, and Sciatica. • Have a good theoretical understanding of the manual and manipulative therapy techniques for treating the Lower Quadrant. • Be able to select and correctly administer appropriate manual and manipulative therapy procedures for the Lower Quadrant. • Be able to instruct patients in the self mobilization treatment for the Lower Quadrant. • Be able to apply manual and manipulative therapy in relation to specific clinical presentations like adductor strain, short hamstring, knee meniscus injury and ankle sprain.


Content Outline

- This is a practical workshop designed to introduce and give the physiotherapists detailed training in the manual and manipulative therapy procedures for the Lumbar spine and Lower Quadrant. The workshop will provide a learning environment where the therapists can train and practice to deliver appropriate manual therapy techniques for the Lumbar spine and Lower Quadrant.
