Aims And Objectives

1. Provide the latest evidence-based medical updates regarding common geriatric healthcare problems using a holistic-care method. 2. Train healthcare workers on performing the clinical skills and assessment tools necessary for efficiently evaluating and managing Older Adults. 3. Develop and improve practical communication skills with the older adult and his caregivers across different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. 4. Train health care workers on how to Educate and support older adults and their caregivers to enable a shared management plan through a person-centered approach to care. 5. Provide healthcare practitioners with the self-evaluation tools necessary for quality control of services. 6. Train health care practitioners to educate and counsel older adults and their caregivers on disease prevention and health promotion. 7. Train participants on how to formulate a personalized care plan in coordination with other interdisciplinary team members involved in caring for older adults. 8. Initiate channels of continuous collaboration with GCC countries to exchange relevant cross-cultural experiences and best practices.


Content Outline

By the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to: 1- Effectively use self-evaluation tools and accordingly improve the quality of service. 2- Understand the person-centered model of care in clinical decision-making. 3- Utilize the latest evidence-based tools and models when managing geriatric health care problems. 4- Implement a personalized care plan in coordination with other health care providers within the interdisciplinary team involved in the care of older adults. 5- Implement healthcare plans targeted toward preventing health problems or maintaining health. 6- Apply the acquired skills and tools needed for functional assessment, management treatment, and counseling of various health conditions related to older adults. 7- Acquire strategies for effective communication, education, and support of the older adult and his caregivers. 8- Identify channels of continuous collaboration with GCC countries to exchange relevant expertise.

1- Geriatric doctors (30 doctor) 2- Family medicine physicians (10-15 doctors) 3- Nurses (40 nurse) 4- Allied health care providers (20 healthworker)
