Aims And Objectives

* Be aware of the ethical principles of research, ethical challenges, and approval processes. * Describe quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches to research. * Identify the components of evaluating and analyzing evidence. * Be familiar with data management and statistical analysis. * Perform descriptive and analytical statistical tests using STATA software. * Learn how to interpret the results and prepare abstract/manuscript for submission.


Content Outline

This course will introduce doctors to the scope of the research process, coming up with research questions to investigate, and propose a study design to fill the gap in knowledge/solve the problem. We will then discuss many of the different data collection methods that help to investigate the research questions, including primary and secondary data collection, medical charts, interviews, focus groups, surveys, and experiments. The course also will cover proper data management prior to statistical analysis, conduct different statistical analysis tests, interpret the results, and draft manuscripts for publications


Target Audience

Postgraduate residents in CBMM board. Clinical biochemistry doctors in Ministry of Health.
