Aims And Objectives

Course Synopsis This course will introduce doctors to the scope of the research process, identify a problem, coming up with research questions to investigate, and propose a study design to fill the gap in knowledge/solve a problem. We will then discuss many of the different data collection methods that help to investigate the research questions, including primary and secondary data collection, dental charts, interviews, focus groups, surveys, and experiments. The course also will cover proper data management prior to statistical analysis, conduct different statistical analysis tests, interpret the results, draft manuscripts for publications. Course Objectives • Be aware of the ethical principles of research, ethical challenges, and approval processes. • Identify the components of evaluating and analyzing evidence. • Be familiar with data management and statistical analysis. • Perform descriptive and analytical statistical tests using STATA software. • Learn how to interpret the results and prepare abstract/manuscript for submission.
