Aims And Objectives

• Conveying the information about all cases admitted the previous day & the status of ICU patients under surgical care to the rest of department members (Handover). • Comments on the application of MOH & department policy or otherwise in management of individual cases. • Enhancing patient care, medical education and providing evidence of learning and assessment of health professionals; residents/trainees, as well as specialists.

Content Outline

1. Scheduled face-to-face handoff process by senior registrar on call the previous day. 2. Discussing patient management issues, including diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, ensuring implementation of guidelines and protocols, as well as for service evaluation purposes. 3. Active participation of different members of the team in morning meetings contribute to better quality patient care through joint clinical decision making and team consensus. 4. Provides an excellent opportunity for trainee doctors & residents to improve their experience.
